I’d forgotten about that “ghost”, and can’t quite figure out what the hell it could be for. Anything to make Rei seem interesting without having her actually do/say anything? It was that or have her appear in the hospital swimsuit? Still, Shinji beats Raki anyday, and at least his headcasery is vaguely relevant in the long run.

Believe or not, I didn’t have that much of a problem with Shinji. I mean he’s whiny, but he’s understandably whiny. My problem comes later on in the series.
