@Epi: The women had mullets because they were basically male personalities in women’s bodies. One of my few complaints about LotGH is that the female characters didn’t act believably female.

Well I dunno, Reinhard had droopy hair at least once he grew it long, although it wasn’t the typical anime droppy hair. One thing I AM glad is that they replaced women with really bad mullets with some decently cute girls in Tytania.

As for the narrator, they should've cast the same guy who sings the opening song. @Hyunk: A review by Japanator in 2007 again compared Vinland Saga to Berserk, this time in narrative style, as well as mentioning similarities to Norihiro Yagi's monthly shōnen title Claymore. I will read this manga and redefine my terms accordingly.

I think the word Viking in “Fat Viking Lady” acts more like a positive constant, making even worse Fat Lady but making even cooler Vinland Saga.

Huh. I always thought pornography was also there to shake the very foundations of philosophy of anyone who is still naïve enough to believe that there was at least some deep darkness of sexuality that hadn’t been plunged yet.
Doesn’t sound strictly enjoyable to me.
(About the actual show for a change: Am I the only one who’s slightly distracted by their choice of narrator? I admit her use is downright spartan compared to LoGH, but every time she pipes in, I can’t help but imagine her as one of the Mazone from Harlock.)
